Grills, markets and all day diners are quietly making great food easy for nine-to-fivers in London. The latest to catch onto the ‘quality at lunchtime’ push is Italy’s own Omar Casali, fresh from a six month kitchen residency in his own country at Mare Cesenatico. Over and above his cheffing duties Casali writes weekly articles for D Repubblica, an Italian broadsheet pull-out, flexing his foodie fingers away from the kitchen.

Yet back in the kitchen is what Londoners will know Omar for most, as his “slow food for busy people” concept launches in St Paul’s. Only in takeaway, the flavours (to infuse the office with) come from the pasta itself, the sauces and Omar’s integral pasta fillings that lace pastas from traditional ravioli to tortelli. Ricotta and spinach, cheese and chicory and artichoke and cheese stuffed pastas can be added to with seven magnificent Italian ham types and plenty of stinky cheeses if you really fancy running amok with your lunch hour.
